The Senate Judiciary Committee voted unanimously to pass bill LD 546, an act to ensure access to public information, submitted by our State Senator David Trahan. The bill is important, according to Trahan, because it closes a loophole in the Maine law that allows public officials to hide wrongdoing. Maine Legislature Schedules Same-Sex Marriage Bill

Mark your calendar!  The Judiciary Committee will hold a public hearing on LD 1020, Dennis Damon's bill to redefine marriage, on Friday, April 24, at Cony High School in Augusta.

Legislators must see a large number of people supporting traditional marriage!  Please plan to attend, either to testify or to pray silently for God to change hearts and protect marriage in Maine.

Testimonies will be limited to three minutes. Check out the arguments for marriage  on the Maine Marriage Alliance website.  While at the hearing, please keep these Biblical truths in mind:
    ·       "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy." James 3:17
    ·       "...a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness." Proverbs 15:1-2
    ·       "Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone." Proverbs 25:15

Over the next month, join the Maine Marriage Alliance in prayer and fasting for families and marriage in Maine.  "But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26

All for Jesus,

Maine Jeremiah Project Announcement

Governor Baldacci has just signed LD 1020 into Law.

LD 1020 "An Act To End Discrimination in Civil Marriage and to Affirm Religious Freedom" destroys the traditional definition and concept of Marriage. It legalizes same-sex marriage and establishes conflicts with the religious liberties of Maine citizens.

We now must move to the last avenue open to us in resisting this tragic move by the legislature and the Governor.

When the Legislature adjourns, we will be part of a broad coalition to apply for a People's Veto. Please stay tuned for more specific details. We will be calling upon every concerned citizen to help. If you would like to volunteer to help with petitions, etc. please email us with this link .

The battle is not over. We have resisted this every step of the way and we will continue to do so.
